A note to my teacher

My teacher will probably know what this is about, but anyone else reading this will be confused. So, here’s a quick backstory.
This year in English, we were given a portfolio to help improve our English. In this portfolio, we could include extra tasks that we then would be marked on. One of these tasks was having an English blog, which was great for me as I already had one. Only, I wasn’t really active… but I asked my teacher and it was okay, I could add it anyway. What brings me to this note.
Dear miss H.
I’m not sure if you’ll be reading my blogposts and to what extent, but please keep in mind that I was very young and not skilled when it came to writing, or even English for that matter. Reading back my old posts now, I feel so embarrassed about the structure of my texts and the spelling and grammar errors. But I’m adding it to my portfolio anyway, because it can only prove how much I’ve improved…
But yeah… if you do read them, I hope you can have a laugh and maybe not cringe too much at my mistakes.

I hope whoever’s reading this has a nice day

TBT: A trip down memory lane

My parents divorced when I was around 4 or 5 years old. Because my dad works in shifts, I spend most of the time at my grandparents’ house. I practically lived there so my grandmother and aunt pretty much raised me. I’m going to talk about a typical school day there.

My aunt would wake up every school day at around eight thirty am. She would’ve laid out my clothes and prepared my snacks for that day. My hair used to be hip height so we had to braid it every day. Nowadays I hate to braid my hair because I sick of doing it.  My grandfather and I would leave for school at around twenty past nine. My school didn’t start until twenty to ten but we had to pick up my cousins first. Although the ride to school was only about five minutes long we’d always fight about what radio station we were going to listen to. My cousins and I wanted to listen to Q-music but my grandfather wanted to listen to radio one, in the end my cousins and I would always win. We’d say to my grandfather that he could listen to radio one on the way back.
I used to really hate going to school. Not because of the learning or anything but because I got pestered a lot. In the beginning I had some guy friends but after a while most of them  started pestering me as well. I did had this one friend, his name was Pieterjan. I got to call him PJ for short. We were both obsessed with Harry Potter, which was really weird because we were both a little too young to watch those movies. We’d learn as many spells as possible and have ’battles’ or just re-enact the films. We also used to play Mario Kart a lot. Not during school of course, that was prohibited but we’d write down our high scores and compare them at school to see who was better. You could say we were quite some geeks.
I think that beside PJ my cousin Elien actually was my best friend during primary school. I’m only two years older than her so the age difference wasn’t too big. Because my aunt and uncle had to work late they’d stay at my grandparents’ house after school. My cousin and I would to the most insane things to her brother. For example when we were playing dress up and there was a dress that was too small for we’d make him wear it, or we’d paint his nails and put make-up on him. We were quite horrible to him. We’d also play with my Barbie dolls a lot. I had the biggest Barbie dolls/décor collection you could imagine. I had all the dolls, princesses, castles, etc. My most precious item was the scooter I got for my sixth birthday.
When it was time to go to bed my grandmother would put me in and read me a bedtime story. I think that’s when my love for reading started. The book that she would read to me was ‘Pietje puk’. When I got older I’d read the books and she’d listen. Something that my grandmother always did is waiting until I was fully asleep before she went downstairs. She did this because I was scared of the dark and wouldn’t fall asleep otherwise.

That’s pretty much how every school day went, scarp that. That’s how my entire childhood went. I think it’s safe to say that my childhood wasn’t all roses and sunshine, but who’s childhood was? There were moments that I just wanted to stay in bed all day and never come out but there were also moments ,whether I was re-enacting Harry Potter or just playing with my dolls, that I didn’t care about what they thought of me at school.
At the moment I don’t have any contact anymore with Pieterjan, which makes me a little bit sad, but I’m still really close with my cousin. She’s as much a sister to me as my grandmother and aunt are mothers to me.

It might seem like I got her a lot, but in reality the things I got her were or not that expensive or I had them lying around the house. But without further do . LET’S GET INTO IT!!!

  • A really cute, pink letter Y to hang on her door/wall
  • A tattoo choker necklace ~she’s been wanting one for like forever
  • A personal letter

An ideal date -for me-

Hey guys
I thought that maybe this weeks I could talk about dates. I know that might sound weird considering I’ve never had a boyfriend, but that doesn’t mean I don’t fantasize about it. –that sounded really weird, I promise it’s not in the disturbed-kind of way- So yeah maybe you have a date coming up and you don’t know what do. If you do I hope this really helps.
please keep in mind that I based these on the kind of things you can do in my city, so some of these might not really work in the area you live.

Movie with a walk
we have this park behind the theatre and I’d think it would we super romantic to watch the afternoon film and after that just go on a walk. Our park has a playground so you could also hang out there. You could maybe even have your first kiss on the swings or under a tree.

Ice skating
This one would be a little bit harder for me because the closest ice-skating range is look a 20-30 minute drive. But if you have one close by I think it would be an amazing date. And it doesn’t matter that that one of you might not know how to skate, it would just make it more romantic! So yeah ice skating is defiantly one of my favourites.

Movie/series marathon
This might not be an ideal first date but maybe if you’ve been together for a while, or even if you’re just friends. An whole day of watching your favourite series or films sounds –to me- really fun. I personally would have a Harry Potter, Stars wars, Teen wolf or maybe even a Disney marathon. You could even make it monthly thing.

Just hanging out
Again this might be better if you’ve been together for a longer while or if you’re just friends. Just spending a Saturday afternoon together could be so much fun. You could make cookies or something, babysit –if one of you has a younger sibling-, or even play videogames together. You could even play Monopoly .  Personally my perfect afternoon would be us baking something  -knowing my cooking skills it will probably suck- and me beating him on Mario Kart. Or maybe him playing videogames while I’m reading a book.

But yeah that’s all for now. I would like it if you’d leave your ‘perfect date idea’ in the comments, I would love to read them. And I’ll talk to you guys next week.

TBT: Mini me

Hey guys
So back on tumblr, I used to have this thing called TBT. -Throw Back Thursday- On every first Thursday of the month, I'd post a story from when I was little. I really liked this, so I want to continue this here.
Though this month I didn't have an idea to write about. So I'm just going to post the most adoreable photo from when I was little. I'm really sorry! But yeah that's all for now.
Love you all

Am I missing out?

Hey guys
“Stuck in love” is one of my all time favourite films. -this will probably make a lot of sense because Lilly Collins is my favourite actress and Logan Lerman is my second favourite actor- For those of you that haven’t seen “Stuck in Love” yet it’s basically this story about the love life of tree people:  a father and his two kids. All three of them are writers.
One of my favourites quotes comes out of this film: “a writer is the sum of his experience”.
The dad says this to his son Rusty throughout the film. He thinks that his son isn’t really living, or participating as you could call it. And this made me think.
Am I missing out? Am I missing out because I don’t go to parties, or hang out that much? Because I can really relate to Rusty. –beside the fact that I don’t smoke weed-  I rather spend my weekend at home reading a book or watching a film instead of going out partying or having a drink with friends. Am I really missing out because of that? Because I don’t want to look back and regret stuff. Don’t people say that these are supposed to be out best years? Am I going to regret the choices I made?
What do you think? I would really like your opinion. Just leave it in the comments below.
That’s all for now, I hope you liked it. And I’ll talk to you guys next time!
